Taming Towing Trouble

Recently, the Montgomery County Executive proposed parts of a bill to deal with what is called “predatory towing”. Towing is necessary to enforce parking restrictions on both public and private property, but sometimes the implementation is not as good as everyone would like.

He stated that he had heard about many problems with towing, such as signs that were difficult to find or people thinking they were legally parked and still getting towed.

Bill 17-15 includes several reforms, such as forbidding a towing charge if the driver gets to their car as it is being towed.
